As you ascend, the views transform into vast, open jailoo (summer pastures) where nomadic herders tend their flocks. Arrive at the lake (3,016 m) in the afternoon and settle into your yurt camp on the shore. The rest of the day is yours to immerse yourself in the nomadic way of life—take a stroll along the lake, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy a traditional Kyrgyz dinner inside the cozy yurt.
Wake up to the serene beauty of Song-Kol and enjoy a morning horseback ride along its vast shoreline, surrounded by endless green pastures and grazing herds. After lunch in the town of Naryn, journey deeper into the remote mountains to Tash Rabat. This remarkable 15th-century stone caravanserai is hidden in a secluded valley and served as a key sanctuary for Silk Road travelers. Today’s adventure takes you through some of Kyrgyzstan’s most wild and untouched landscapes towards the Chinese border. The drive is spectacular, traversing rugged valleys and crossing the high-altitude Kyndy Pass. You will stop for a picnic lunch by a rushing mountain river. Your destination is the breathtaking Kel-Suu Lake, an alpine marvel known for its stunning turquoise waters, which are nestled between dramatic, towering cliffs. After an early breakfast, set out to explore the magnificent Kel-Suu Lake. You can choose to hike or ride on horseback to reach the best viewpoints overlooking the vivid turquoise water. Your first stop is the mesmerizing Skazka (Fairytale) Canyon, a landscape of wind-sculpted red and yellow sandstone formations that create a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere. Next, you will visit the powerful Barskoon Waterfalls, where you can take a short hike to a viewpoint to feel the spray of the cascading water.
