This 5-day road trip takes you from the vibrant capital of Bishkek to the serene beauty of Altyn Arashan, the picturesque shores of Issyk-Kul Lake, and the majestic Terskey Alatau mountains. Experience the warmth of Kyrgyz hospitality in charming guesthouses and yurts, and immerse yourself in the ancient traditions of the nomadic people.
After picking you up from your hotel, the adventure begins with a drive to the Issyk-Kul region. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant in Boom Gorge before visiting the stunning Issyk-Kul Lake, one of the largest lakes in Kyrgyzstan, surrounded by the majestic Kyrgyz Ala Too mountains. En route, explore the historical Burana Tower, a key point on the ancient Silk Road, featuring a minaret and remnants of an ancient castle. Arrive in Karakol for dinner and an overnight stay at a guesthouse.
After breakfast, take a thrilling 2-hour ride in a Russian Bukhanka car to Altyn Arashan. Upon arrival, enjoy a hot shower and lunch, then take time to explore the breathtaking valley, complete with views of the snow-covered Palatka Peak (5020m). Spend the night in a cozy yurt surrounded by stunning scenery.
Return to Karakol in the morning, where you can visit the Dunghan Mosque. After lunch, head towards the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, visiting Zheti Oguz Valley and Skazka Canyon along the way. Admire the remarkable rock formations shaped by wind erosion and stay overnight at a guesthouse in Bokonbaevo.
Start the day with an exhilarating eagle hunting demonstration, learning about the ancient practice and possibly trying your hand at archery. Afterward, make your way back to Bishkek for the night, staying in a comfortable hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Ala Archa National Park, located just 40 km from Bishkek. Enjoy a 2-3 hour trek in this beautiful natural setting, where you can admire the stunning gorge and mountain scenery. After returning to the city for lunch, spend the afternoon on a guided tour of Bishkek, exploring its vibrant culture and history. Enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant before your overnight stay at the hotel.
