This journey invites you into the soul of Kyrgyzstan — its mountains, nomadic pastures, and warm-hearted traditions. Over nine days, you’ll cross dramatic high passes, ride horses through rolling valleys, and stay in yurts under endless starry skies. You’ll encounter eagle hunters, soak in natural hot springs, and witness landscapes that shift from alpine lakes to red sandstone canyons. This isn’t just a trip — it’s an immersion into nomadic life, where every sunrise brings new adventure and every evening ends with authentic hospitality.

Itinerary

Day 1.Arrival in Bishkek → Kochkor (230 km, ~4 hrs)

Your adventure begins in Bishkek, the lively capital framed by the Ala-Too mountains. After
arrival, enjoy a city tour:

  • Stroll around Ala-Too Square, the heart of the capital.
  • Visit Oak Park with its sculptures and Soviet-era monuments.
  • Explore the Philharmonic Hall and Victory Monument.
  • Immerse yourself in the colorful atmosphere of Osh Bazaar, where locals trade spices,
    bread, and crafts.

After lunch, depart towards Kochkor village. En route:

  • Visit the Burana Tower, an 11th-century minaret and one of the last reminders of
    Balasagun, a Silk Road city.
  • Walk through the Kok Moinok Canyon, with red sandstone cliffs carved into dramatic
    shapes.

Arrive in Kochkor in the evening. Check into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner with
traditional Kyrgyz cuisine.

Day 2.Kochkor → Kyzart → Kilemche Valley (Horse Riding, 4–5 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Kyzart Village, where your horses and local horseman await. Saddle up
and begin your journey into Kyrgyz nomadic landscapes.

  • Ride across vast alpine meadows dotted with yurts, where shepherds tend their herds.
  • Stop for tea in a local yurt, learning about nomadic hospitality.
  • Cross gentle hills that open into the wide Kilemche Valley, a lush summer pasture.

Tonight, stay in a yurt camp. Enjoy dinner by the stove and step outside to see the stars like
you’ve never seen before.

Day 3.Kilemche → Zhalgyz Karagay Pass → Song-Kol Lake (Horse Riding, 4– 5 hrs)

Wake up to the sounds of nature and continue on horseback.

  • Ascend the Zhalgyz Karagay Pass, with sweeping views over green valleys and distant
    peaks.
  • Descend towards Song-Kol Lake, the jewel of Kyrgyz highlands. At 3,016 m, this alpine
    lake is the summer home of shepherds and their flocks.

Settle into a lakeside yurt camp. In the afternoon, you may:

  • Ride along the lakeshore.
  • Try kumis, the traditional fermented mare’s milk.
  • Watch the golden sunset paint the lake and mountains.

Dinner and overnight in yurts beside the water.

Day 4.Song-Kol → Kel-Suu Lake (via 32 Parrots Pass)

Today’s drive is an adventure itself. Depart Song-Kol and head towards Kel-Suu Lake, one of the most remote destinations in Kyrgyzstan.

  • Cross the dramatic 32 Parrots Pass (3,300 m), with serpentine curves offering dizzying views.
  •  Pass through remote valleys where yurts dot the landscape.

Arrive at Kel-Suu Lake, hidden among towering cliffs with turquoise waters that seem otherworldly. Few travelers make it here, and the silence is profound. Overnight in a yurt camp near the lake.

Day 5.Kel-Suu → Naryn (Horse Riding + Drive)

Morning option: take a horse ride around Kel-Suu Lake, exploring the cliffs and meadows surrounding the water.
After lunch, drive towards Naryn, a picturesque town stretched along the Naryn River.

  • Stroll through the town, lined with colorful houses.
  • Visit the mosque or simply enjoy the riverside views.

Dinner and overnight in a cozy guesthouse.

Day 6.Naryn → Bokonbaevo (Eagle Hunting Show)

Leave Naryn and drive towards Issyk-Kul Lake’s southern shore. Stop in Bokonbaevo village,
famous for its eagle hunters.

  • Experience an eagle hunting demonstration, where a golden eagle showcases how nomads once relied on these birds for survival.
  • Visit Ak-Say Canyon, with vibrant red and orange cliffs.

Evening dinner and overnight in a yurt camp.

Day 7.Bokonbaevo → Karakol (via Skazka, Barskoon & Zheti-Oguz)

Drive along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul with stops at natural wonders:

  • Skazka Canyon (Fairy Tale) – colorful rock formations shaped like castles and animals.
  • Barskoon Gorge & Waterfall – a place of pine forests, waterfalls, and a monument to Yuri Gagarin.
  • Zheti-Oguz Gorge – the iconic “Seven Bulls” cliffs, glowing red at sunset.

Arrive in Karakol in the evening. Visit the Dungan Mosque and Russian Orthodox Church,
two landmarks reflecting the town’s cultural mix. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 8.Karakol → Altyn Arashan Valley (Trekking 5–6 hrs)

After breakfast, begin a trek into Altyn Arashan Valley, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most scenic alpine
gorges.

  • Walk through spruce forests with snowy peaks rising above.
  • Arrive at the valley’s natural hot springs, where you can soak in warm mineral waters
    surrounded by mountains.

Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse or yurt camp in the valley.

Day 9.Altyn Arashan → Karakol → Bishkek (430 km, ~6 hrs)

Return to Karakol in the morning, then travel back to Bishkek along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.

  • Stop at Semenovka and Grigorevka Gorges, known for their pine forests and streams.
  • Arrive in Bishkek in the evening. Celebrate the end of your journey with a farewell dinner featuring Kyrgyz music and cuisine.

Overnight in hotel or transfer to the airport.
